You're going to need it in both places. Because 3383 -expects- a source that is orange-shifted, because it's intended for the source to be a negative film. Then you're going to need it in printing, because the print stock you're printing it to will ALSO expect a source that is orange-shifted.
You might consider shooting without the orange mask just because the stuff is so slow that you will want every bit of film speed at the expense of color rendition. If you're shooting slow timelapse that might not be an issue but if you want to shoot 24 fps in bright sun you'll be at the edge of the envelope. If you don't shoot without the orange mask you'll find greens and cyans saturating and blocking up when yellows and oranges are properly exposed. Maybe you want this, I don't know.
