Ive been using a half frame for projects, its an Olympus Pen EE. I shoot onto b/w neg then print down to 16mm motion picture stock with the half frame in the gate (4 perf). The results are good. Im shooting scenes with little or no movement in the frame to try and deceive you that its movie footage. You can definately feel somehow the larger neg and of course the camera is so small, so super portable. I like the look of that Pentax, esp the sharpness of the lens and some of its functions so thanks for drawing attention to it. Ive been trying ECP lately (colour POS from a colour neg, both 16mm) so now could possibly shoot onto colour neg and use the same blowing down process.....

Hi all, I made some experimental 35mm films using a half-frame camera a few decades ago. The registration was not very good, which isn't surprising, considering the cameras are not designed for making motion picture films. Still, they were fun. I heard about a new half-frame film camera today. And it made me want to try it again. Maybe this post will make you want to try it too? Here's the camera: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/explora/videos/photography/finally-a-new-film-camera-announcing-the-pentax-17 Cheers, Simon
