Hi Sarah,
If you use a light meter such as a Gossen starlight you can use the target sight at 1 degree or five degrees of angle on your subject to measure the honey precisely.

I use one all the time, it has been reliable for me.

All the best,
David

Dear Frameworkers,

I'm going to be doing a shoot with Ektachrome in a few days, working with honey being poured from a jug, where only the honey is visible in a dark background.  I plan to work in a darkened room with a small light shining directly on the honey.

Here's a 16 second clip of the action shot with an iPhone to show the kind of effect I'm interested in: https://vimeo.com/1018138566/f57e86de7f

I have no idea how to set the exposure to achieve this.  Any ideas or suggestions?

kind thanks,

Sarah
