I’m Jim Jennings’ widow, Karen Treanor, and I am working with a social
media expert, Siver Aarestad, to promote Jim’s work and gather ideas in
preparation for an arts foundation I’m going to establish in Jim’s honor.

At the moment, we have several projects in the works:

-While all of Jim’s films were acquired by the Academy of Motion Picture
Arts and Sciences, he left a series of beautiful Kodachrome slides from the
late 70s that we are digitizing to create a video. Some of the slides were
shown at the Collective for Living Cinema in 1980, but we are unsure of
which ones. (John Zorn’s accompaniment is also unknown.) Nevertheless,
these exquisite images, along with audio recordings Jim made, will be
transformed into video form and, therefore, become more widely accessible.

-We are creating a Wikipedia page with information about Jim’s life and
work.

-We are posting news and images on Instagram (Jim_Jennings_Films), Facebook
(Jim Jennings), X ( film_jim53056 ) and Blue Sky ( [email protected]
), as well as updating Jim’s website (JimJenningsfilms.com).

-We are exploring venues to show all of Jim’s art–photographs, drawings,
films, videos and slides.

-We are also collecting ideas about what sort of foundation I can create to
serve the needs of artists and art-lovers and we would appreciate any
recommendations you might have for Board Members, especially accountants,
lawyers and fundraisers with previous Board experience.

Your input would be valuable to us! What do you think would help make the
arts scene more vibrant and inspiring? What do you see as an unmet need?
