As much as it costs now to buy, process and workprint-or-scan a 100 ft load of 16mm film, putting it in a Krasno is insane. Plus, unless you've been doing wrist-arm-shoulder workouts diligently you'll likely need to budget for medical bills and/or physical therapy to deal with the aftermath of trying to wind the spring a few times.
The going eBay prices of 16mm MOS cameras other than Bolex that are actually usable can swing wildly over time. Maybe 18 years ago you could get Kodak K100s for like $150-200, but I have no idea what's out there now. But... There's no point trying to address the question of the OP given that anyone who asks if film is still available for an A-Minima likely needs way more basic help than getting camera advice from the list (maybe like reading through Lipton first?). And there's no way we can offer anything like cogent advice unless we know what she want's to shoot, what type of end product she might hope to create from it, and why oh why she imagines doing this in 16mm instead of some form of digital, since the options are so wide, lots of them are smaller and lighter than an an Aaton, and memory cards are sure smaller and lighter than rolls of 16mm stock. IOW, the reason to NOT use video (assuming there is one) in 2025 likely indicates the proper path inside the photochemical film realm. > >
