True it's not 'traditional' direct cameraless scratch-on-film animation,
but I'd still argue it qualifies as animation created by scratch imagery,
and certainly great inspiration to all film scratchers everywhere forever.
I know it is rephotographed with an animation camera, but I thought the
original artwork was scratched on film - you can see the layers of emulsion
with distinctive green and yellow layers.
