RE your expansion of your  original question to include films that have
ethno-poetic leanings but also are about “failure” ,”interruption” and/or
“abandonment” ...
this TOWN was built for COMPANY around the time of the GOLD RUSH for its
salt mining workers and was almost uninhabited in 2004.
--- Their methods were interrupted by  new technologies and people exited
in mass when they were laid off...
