Hi Chema,

Thank you for the clarification.  I’ll reply further off list regarding Frente
a Guernica

Still hoping to show the films in question due to the scores done by Los
Angeles-based people.

Very truly yours,

Adam

Hi Adam,

This is Chema González, whom you mention in your email. I hope you are doing
well.

Frente a Guernica, the last work scripted by Gianikian and Ricci Lucchi, was
indeed produced by the Museo Reina Sofía-Film department, is part of our
collection (alongside "La marcia del uomo"), and—should you submit an official
request—it could be loaned by us. As for the rest of the films, the contact
details you have are correct, and you need to go through Lucrezia and Yervant.

Best regards,
Chema

Hi all,

In the spirit of finding out how to get things, I’m trying to screen Dal polo
all’equatore (1986) and/or Pays Barbare (2013) by Gianikian and Ricci-Lucchi
but am having difficulty. Here are the steps I have taken. If anyone has any
additional contacts or suggestions, or screened in the last year or two, please
let me know.

First, Keith Ullrich, who was involved with Pasadena Filmforum, did the score
(with Charles Anderson) on “Dal polo all’equatore” (From the Pole to the
Equator). In part I wish to show it as part of Filmforum’s 50th anniversary
screenings with Keith in person. He thought a print once was in the MoMA
Circulating library but the Circulating Library is not accessible. Canyon
Cinema also once had a print but doesn’t anymore.

I had been in touch with Chema Gonzalez Martinez of Museo Reina Sofia in
Madrid. They did a series in 2023 and Chema said that they hdid restorations
of multiple films.

https://www.museoreinasofia.es/en/activity/yervant-gianikian-and-angela-ricci-lucchi

all in conjunction with their last film on “Frente de Guernica”

But the email I received from Chema in late 2025 said “I am afraid I cannot
help you on this matter and you may address your request directly to Yervant
and Lucrezia Lerro ([email protected]).”

I have written Yervant multiple times over the past couple of years and he has
never replied. I have written Lucrezia Lerro twice with no reply. Does anyone
know a better email or perhaps phone number for her?

Fondazione Prada screened the last film in 2024.

I have emailed them at their general email with no reply.

Does anyone have a name or direct email for someone there?

Thank you!

Best regards,

Adam
