Some folk on this mailing list might like to listen to this.
It is a recording, made by Nicky Hamlyn, of papers that Malcolm Le Grice and
Peter Wollen gave at the Seminars on Avant-Garde Film Theory and Practice at
the London Film-makers Co-op on February 10 or 11th, 1976. I'm not currently
sure whether the date of the recording was the 10th or 11th, but both papers
were given on the same day. Le Grice is first. Wollen's paper starts at
approximately 57mins, after the audience had a short break. Questions from the
audience follow each paper. This recording derives from a tape that I had of
Hamlyn's original. I have made some enhancements to the recording: the pitch
needed amending and some noise reduction has been applied. After some initial
wrangling with the microphone, and once your listening is attuned, the audio is
fine and both speakers are easy to follow.
I was prompted to digitise this last week and suddenly realised that it will be
the fiftieth anniversary of this recording.
Happy listening!
