Jordan Belson's 1961 film Allures has been added to the National Film Registry of the Library of Congress for films deemed "cultural, artistic and historical treasures."

Interesting that all abstract filmmakers are described as "profoundly influenced by the artist and theorist Wassily Kandinsky" whether that's the case or not!

The Belson Tribute Retrospective program featuring preserved 16mm prints  will tour a number of cities in 2012, details announced as confirmed.
