Tom,

Keith Smith is a genuis book artist.
He makes many books, but has a series which is full of folios with holes that
is lit. When the pages are turned by the viewer, a moving image is projected
into the wall.

Might be worth contacting him directly or one of the galleries who represent
him.

Subject: [Frameworks] artist's flip books etc

Dear Frameworkers –
I am looking for flip books or other small optical
toys/devices/objects made by artists, especially experimental filmmakers, to
display at an upcoming show at Durham Cinematheque. If the artist is
interested, I would like
to offer them for sale. (but it is not necessary to do so…….)

Not sure what might be out there, but I am especially looking
for anything that references film and/or photographic technology, film history,
and the like. I have been making small sculptural pieces using parts and pieces
of projectors and cameras and bits of film, and am wondering if anyone else
has anything similar.

Please contact me off-list if you have any questions or leads,
thanks.

                - Tom Whiteside Durham Cinematheque
