Hi everyone, I missed getting this event into this week's "This week...", so here it is.....
I'm very excited to be presenting sound/film performances with Aki Onda as part of his residency at Issue Project Room, next Saturday, February 23rd, at 4pm and 8pm. I'll be screening Super 8mm films to his cassette field recording sound collages. Here's all the information (below). If you're in New York next weekend, I hope you can make it! Best, Paul Issue Project Room- Aki Onda & Paul Clipson at 155 Freeman St., Brooklyn (Greenpoint) Saturday, February 23rd 4pm & 8pm FREE ($10 suggested donation) http://issueprojectroom.org/drupal/event/aki-onda-paul-clipson Cassette musician Aki Onda collaborates with a San Fransisco based filmmaker Paul Clipson for his final performance of the 2012 Artist-in-Residence series. Onda and Clipson render images and sounds as if a fragmented journey of landscapes and memories. They investigate personal, intuitive spaces, through their favored technologies of Super 8mm film and cassette Walkman. Both artists place significant emphasis on performance environments, where their visual and sonic field recordings interact to create sensory collages, born out of the subjective impressions of the audience.
