Hi Kristie, I was living down in el DF up until recently and although my focus was not on mainstream Mexican films from the Golden Age I did work with a lady who was writing a book on the history of studios in Mexico. She may be able to help you with connections or first hand info but just lemme message her first. I'm not sure if she has time.
Other than her, I would advise you to contact the Cineteca Nacional and the AMACC.
