Hollis Frampton has some great works revolving around the use of text. Some that come immediately to mind: Gloria, Zorns Lemma, and Poetic Justice. As far as works made by women, the first filmmaker I can think of is Su Friedrich and her work film Gently Down the Stream, is a film which involves a lot of text.
