Greetings!
It's been quite a producing/productive Summer --> Fall and so it's time to
share some of the fruits of my labor. This Friday, October 24th, I'll be
premiering a new video installation and a series of collages/photographs at the
Chicago Artists Coalition - HATCH group show

I also recently just came back from the swamps of North Carolina where Courtney
Prokopas
(http://FelkerCommaLori.us6.list-manage.com/track/click?u=2cc51fa20effecd1cf0c63ce2&id=017347a3d5&e=b64d84fbfc)
and I were beginning our work on a film about Venus Fly Traps and controlled
burns funded by an Interdisciplinary Collaboration in the Arts and Humanities
(ICAH) Award through the University of Illinois Chicago.
It was also a pleasure to be included on NewCity's Film 50
(http://FelkerCommaLori.us6.list-manage.com/track/click?u=2cc51fa20effecd1cf0c63ce2&id=a8543494a5&e=b64d84fbfc)
list with a lot of other fantastic filmmakers. 50 is certainly too small of a
number to cover all of the breadth of the Chicago film scene, but I was still
tickled to be included as one of the "multi-hyphenate talents" they featured.

Speaking of hyphens, my -programmer- side is pleased to announce (or remind
you) that I'm the new Film/Video programmer at Roots & Culture Gallery.

We've had two excellent shows so far (Soheila Azadi and Latham Zearfoss) and
the upcoming schedule includes Theodore Darst & Jennifer Chan on Nov. 9th and
Todd Mattei on Nov. 23. If you're in Chicago, I hope to see you there!
There's more to talk about . . . but that's another announcement scheduled for
the not too distant future.

In No-Fi (No Fidelity) artists Lori Felker, Jesse Seay, and Sebura&Gartelmann
(Jonas Sebura and Alex Gartelmann) investigate the spectrums of craft and
technical proficiency while practicing restraint or employing alternative
methods in their modes of production. The presented works denote a
counterculture ethos and feature a healthy dose of punk and DIY aesthetics.

No-Fi Related events:
* I'll be gallery sitting October 25th 12pm-6pm if you can't make it to the
opening and want to chat about the show.
* Tuesday November 28th, Comfort Station's HATCH Projects Salon Series, 6-9pm.
Each of the artists in my group and the curator Erin Toale, will
introduce/present their recent work.
* Saturday November 8th, 2pm-6pm, programming related to the exhibition -
workshop & screening, details TBA.
