"Pornography is the opposite of what my work is about." Lawrence Brose
"How many pillars of Buffalo's arts culture community are going to be attacked
by U.S. Attorney Hochul and his frivolous prosecutions?" Steve Kurtz
"This wasn't a frivolous prosecution.  He elected to plead guilty to a felony
crime." U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo.
"He was [financially] broken. This is how they paint an individual into a
corner." Kurtz
Chief U.S. District Judge William M. Skretny, who sentenced Brose to two years
probation (prompting applause in the coutroom) took issue with Brose's
characterization of his behavior as a mistake.  "There's no excuse for
victimization of children.  Whether it's intentional, whether it's incidental,
it's all reprehensible."
