The role of the *Facilities and Equipment Manager* is to provide technical support and service to members using Cineworks facilities and equipment. This role is a primary source of contact for the membership. Cineworks Independent Filmmakers Society is an artist-run production and exhibition centre that supports independent filmmakers and media artists. Through initiatives that foster dialogue and experimentation with cinematic practices, we engage our membership and the broader community through the transformative power of the moving image. *Key Accountabiities:* - Ensure equipment and facilities are functional and in good working order to meet the needs of the members - Resource, schedule rentals to maintain effective inventory control, execute an efficient maintenance plan for equipment and facilities - Provide timely follow-up and feedback to members requiring rental or facility support - Provide accurate research and analysis to inform decisions on the maintenance, usage, purchase and/or retirement of equipment. - Manage administrative duties regarding the use of equipment and facility rentals: scheduling, invoicing and budgeting. - Provide technical expertise where required to support the advancement of Cineworks programs, workshops or events. - Promote occupational health and safety through the safe operation of equipment in compliance with workplace health and safety requirements such as WHMIS - Provide content, input and accurate research to enable successful granting and fund development opportunities - Support opportunities for the creative development of film and media artists *Qualifications*: The Facilities & Equipment Manager will be an energetic, self-directed person with superior technical knowledge and ability, excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and a background in both analogue and digital production with a media arts focus. Experience working with artist run centres or community based organizations and an understanding of funding agency models and non-profit governance structures is an asset. The successful candidate will have significant experience in scheduling and managing an inventory of equipment and publicly accessible production facilities. They will require competency with databases, networks, digital editing software, social media and commonly used computer applications (both PC and MAC), financial accountability and excellent ‘people skills’. Other attributes include reliability, an ability to problem-solve, work as part of a team and provide technical support to Cineworks programs as required.
