Dear friends,
In case you missed it, we've got a very exciting show coming up this Saturday
at noon at the Institute of Contemporary Art / Boston.
San Francisco-based filmmaker Paul Clipson will be flying out to present
roughly one hour of his entrancing multi-layered 16mm work with a live
soundtrack by local electronic musician Brendan Murray, making a welcome return
to public performance. Paul and Brendan previously performed together at the
Activating the Medium festival in 2009, alongside legendary filmmaker and
minimalist musician Tony Conrad.
Also featured in Saturday's program will be a double 16mm projection
performance by Magical Approach, a new project of local filmmaker/musician duo
Brittany Gravely and Ken Linehan, working with footage from their upcoming
tarot-inspired film cycle, The Telepathy Sessions. You may be familiar with
Brittany and Ken's work from their past collaborations under the moniker
Architecture of the Sun (including their excellent performance at Balagan's
"Reflection/Refraction" screening in 2012).
This screening is presented in collaboration with 2015 Foster Prize winner
Ricardo De Lima and the ICA Boston.
