The School of Arts and Humanities at Keene State College seeks qualified 
applicants for a Media Technology and Equipment Specialist to begin October 
2015. This position primarily supports the Film Studies Department and has 
secondary responsibilities to support Journalism and Graphic Design. Film 
Studies at Keene State College is a thriving major within the School of Arts 
and Humanities with a history going back to the early 1970s. The Film Studies 
curriculum blends critical thinking with creative production. Current 
facilities include 16 mm film and video, editing labs, the 150-seat Putnam 
Theater, and a film archive holding valuable film prints, including the films 
of Louis de Rochemont. A vibrant local film culture includes a campus film 
society that holds nightly theatrical screenings, a series of visiting 
filmmakers and artists, and the Monadnock International Film Festival. Film 
Studies students regularly intern at a variety of venues including Florentine 
Films, the George Eastman House, and regional film festivals. 
Keene State College is located in the center of New England in the beautiful 
Monadnock region. Boston, Montreal, and New York City are 2-4 hours away. 
Responsibilities of the position include: Provide oversight for Film Department 
equipment maintenance, distribution and inventory and of the Film Studies 
DVD/Video library; Maintain Film department budget and purchasing processes for 
equipment and films; Plan, design, and oversee major multi-workstation software 
installation/ upgrades for Media Arts Center labs, in collaboration with 
Information Technology personnel; Troubleshoot software, operating systems, 
network, and peripherals in classrooms and specialized labs; Research, consult, 
and develop technology solutions for new media; Hire, train and supervise 
student workers for the equipment room, Film Studies library, Film labs, and 
Film Society projection; Provide administrative logistical support for Film 
Society screenings and department internships. 
Bachelor's degree and two years' experience in media technology/equipment 
support, expert abilities with MAC's and PC, familiarity with broad array of 
media-related software programs (Adobe Creative Cloud, Avid, Lightroom, 
Audition, Vegas Pro 12, Final Cut Pro, and Cinema 4D, ProTools, Microsoft 
Office), knowledge of film and video equipment (16mm and digital, sound, 
lights), media hardware (media players and projectors), excellent 
organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, and a passion for film, 
learning, and mentoring.  
Three or more years of experience in media technology/equipment support, 
experience with analog film projection, supervisory experience with student 
workers.
