Making DIY Scoopic battery packs is pretty easy. I made a .pdf:

Original Scoopic packs used NiCad cells, which less run time than the newer 
NiMH cells, and also have 'the memory effect' which NiMH doesn't. Even if you 
revel an original pack, you should get NiMH. The thing is, the electronics for 
charging are slightly different, and the original Scoopic charger may not work 
so hot with NiMH cells. It's easy though to get a new charger. Scoopic cells 
are 12v. (I'm assuming here you're talking about the later black body Scoopics, 
not the old original gray body. Those have different size and voltage 
batteries.)
