LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE
With the shortest day of the year fast approaching, we celebrate the bright
light of cinema in this family-friendly screening and farewell to our
exhibition Gibson + Recoder: Powers of Resolution. Featuring short films with
straightforward considerations of the endless possibilities of light, this
screening celebrates a radiance that is always around us. From joyful
experiments that result in light flying off the screen to pinhole cameras and
obscura images, each film approaches the magic of light with curiosity and
creativity. The screening will end with a viewing of the installation Obscurus
Projectum, which turns the Exploratorium’s Kanbar Forum into a room-sized
camera obscura. FEATURING Con Brio by Sandra Eber (4 min.); Recamera by Rosario
