Thanks George, and Colin, for your advice – nice to know I can probably replace a fuse though getting to it seems a little daunting. Thank you.

It was difficult to generate a pure DC voltage for the lamp. The high frequency ac was above what the ear could detect. If you can find a tube tester test the tubes or look for one that has no glow when viewed in the dark. If it has a transistor amp ignore this advice. If you can locate a diagram forward it to me and I will see if I can be more specific. I’ve replaced it with a new one and it’s still not working (the old one didn’t look burned out either). I know the amplifier is working as I hear a healthy hum when I turn it on, and the flash from my camera even caused a loud pop when I snapped this photo, so I know the reader sensor itself is working. Any idea what could be causing the bulb not to come on? There’s a “circuit breaker” button on the panel but it doesn’t seem to do anything when I press it. Is there a fuse somewhere inside that might need replacement? <http://www.hi-beam.net/temp/IMG_1633.JPG> http://www.hi-beam.net/temp/IMG_1633.JPG Thanks for any advice.
