I recently finished a documentary on a small second-run movie theater in Minnesota in the final hours before it changed ownership and transitioned to digital projection. There are some shots of the old projectors, and projectionists working and reminiscing:

Change is evident in the light projected through celluloid, in the buzzes and clatters of the projection booth, and in a farewell screening of the Evil Dead trilogy on 35mm. The owner turns on the house lights for the last time, as a neighboring megachurch takes over the business to bring the theater into a new era of digital projection. -Chris Lange > On Jun 8, 2018, at 10:24 AM, Ignacio Tamarit <[email protected]> > wrote: > > Color Film by Standish Lawder > The Death Train by Bill Morrison > > 2018-06-08 11:22 GMT-03:00 Julian Antos <[email protected] > <mailto:[email protected]>>: > We made a big ass list! > > http://www.sprocketschool.org/wiki/List_of_projection_and_projectionists_in_film > > <http://www.sprocketschool.org/wiki/List_of_projection_and_projectionists_in_film> > > On Fri, Jun 8, 2018 at 9:15 AM Scott Dorsey <[email protected] > <mailto:[email protected]>> wrote: > Cinema Paradiso is a classic. > --scott > _______________________________________________ > FrameWorks mailing list > [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> > https://mailman-mail5.webfaction.com/listinfo/frameworks > <https://mailman-mail5.webfaction.com/listinfo/frameworks> > -- > Julian Antos > Chicago Film Society > www.chicagofilmsociety.org <http://www.northwestchicagofilmsociety.org/> > 773 827 8991 <> > > > _______________________________________________ > FrameWorks mailing list > [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> > https://mailman-mail5.webfaction.com/listinfo/frameworks > <https://mailman-mail5.webfaction.com/listinfo/frameworks> > > > > > -- > Ignacio Tamarit > Lumiton Museo Usina Audiovisual > Cabral 2354, Munro, Vicente López. > Tel.: 4721-9255. > _______________________________________________ > FrameWorks mailing list > [email protected] > https://mailman-mail5.webfaction.com/listinfo/frameworks
