Hi David,

As others will suggest, Premiere is a pretty straightforward solution for this.
Quality is totally dependent on the resolution of the incoming image. The
higher the better of course.

Another alternative is a program called TV Paint out of France. Developed by
animators it has a number of unique features. I use it extensively both
professional and in my teaching setting (where we still use an Oxberry rostrum
camera).

It allows you to open a huge image file as a single frame project, while
simultaneously allowing the setup of such a camera move in another resolution
project (HD for example) and you may then select the input for content and
movement from the single huge frame to create a new camera drift. First attempt
is always cumbersome and non-intuitive, then once past that hurdle, it works
great.

Feel free to reach out to me directly should you like to discuss further.

A lot of water under the bridge, but greetings to any surviving members who
might remember me / my idiosyncratic and now prehistoric contributions.

And I suppose seasonal greetings are in order, if applicable.

I’m looking for and have not yet found software that allows one to explore a
still image, like a Ken Burns rostrum camera shot – I know he’s not the flavour

of the month for many pure experimentalists – but invoking his name / oeuvre is
an efficient metaphoric descriptor for my digital desire.

The film resulting from a successful suggestion will entitle the suggester
(sic) to a healthy acknowledgement in the credits which otherwise would name
only

Yours truly and now,

Cordially
