** SANDRA DAVIS / CHICK STRAND Digital Screening

Dear Fracto Friends,
After the success of our recent Bruce Baillie-Chick Strand digital screening,
we decided to delve deeper into the work of Strand and screen her feature Soft
Fiction (1979) in full HD, alongside A Preponderance of Evidence (1999) by
Sandra Davis, presented in a new 2K scan.
While we always prefer to screen celluloid in a dark room at every possible
opportunity, we must accept the limits of the current situation.
Thanks to your generosity, we were able to recoup the costs of renting the
Baillie and Strand films, with an extra $80 in donations, which were passed
along directly to Baillie’s family.
We once again ask for a small donation to help us recoup the rental costs. That
said, the screening is free for all to enjoy and share. Thank you for your
generosity.

Soft Fiction (1979) by Chick Strand was restored in 2015 by the Academy Film
Archive. Restoration funding provided by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art
(LACMA) and The Film Foundation.
