and Outlook*
Engineers, lead architects, and product managers from the Solaris
engineering team will offer deep technical insights and provide an
outlook on the future of Solaris.
Before the lunch break we will address technologies which are hot
topics in the IT industry in general:
* *OpenStack -* a cloud computing platform for public and private
clouds developed in an open source project backed by 300+ companies
* *Software Defined Networking --* to connect virtual machine to
resources like storage, network, or other VMs flexibly and
securely in multi-tenant environments
* *Security and Compliance --* verify running systems against your
own security policies or predefined ones like for the Payment
Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) and generate
compliance reports.
After lunch we will review the latest Solaris technologies and share
experiences gained in the half year since general availability of
Solaris 11.2. Finally Markus Flierl, Oracle's Vice President in
charge of Solaris development will summarize today's highlights,
discuss the role of Solaris in Oracle's strategy and and provide an
outlook on the future of Solaris.
