Rising Star Cookies

Prep Time: 1 hr 15 min ; Start to Finish: 1 hr 30 min

Makes: 2 dozen cookies

Start with convenient refrigerated cookie dough, and you're halfway there. 
Traditional cutout cookies have never been so easy!


1roll (16.5 oz) Pillsbury® Create 'n Bake® refrigerated sugar cookies
2cups powdered sugar
2teaspoons light corn syrup
2to 3 tablespoons milk
Food color (your choice of color), if desired
Assorted hard candies and colored sprinkles



1 .  Heat oven to 350°F. Remove half of cookie dough from wrapper; refrigerate 
remaining dough until needed.
2 .  On lightly floured surface with rolling pin, roll dough 1/4 inch thick. 
With 3-inch star-shaped cookie cutter, cut out dough stars. On ungreased cookie 
sheets, place stars 2 inches apart. Repeat with remaining dough.
3 .  Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool 1 minute; remove 
from cookie sheets to cooling racks. Cool completely, about 15 minutes.
4 .  In small bowl, mix powdered sugar, corn syrup and enough milk until smooth 
and of desired spreading consistency. Stir in food color. Frost cookies with 
glaze. Decorate as desired with assorted candies and sprinkles.
