This is so yummy. Drizzle over Ice cream, poundcake, or fresh fruit (it's so 
good with the fruit), or even over toasted buttered crusty bread sprinkled with 
cinnamon and sugar. 

1 1/2 cups balsamic vinegar
3 Tbsps sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract or a split vanilla bean if you have one 

In a saucepan heat balsamic vinegar over medium heat. Add sugar and vanilla 
once it starts to simmer (don't let it boil). Turn down the heat to maintain a 
slow simmer. Let the mixture reduce until it thickens and coats the back of a 
spoon (about half the volume you started with). Remove vanilla bean if one was 
used, and drizzle over whatever you like (see suggestions above). Store in jar, 
flavor gets better as it sits.
