Hello, I've been in and out of the irc chat and across the wiki as well.

logos are cool, and I'm not picky, but I gravitate towards orange
if anyone wants easy votes :D

   The information about hypervisor [
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypervisor ]technology is very
interesting a read, and I was surprised to learn it was first used in
the 1960's on an older IBM mainframe that also wore the numbers
360..... [ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IBM/360 ]

   I have a decommissioned IBM powerpc with aix [ 5.1 i think ] that i
have been unable to utilize and am willing to do anything on if some
one would lead me thru it [ only access is serial into it, i crippled
its net after it flooded its old owners with error tickets.... ].
maybe install Xen , Trango , or similar software to get the idea of
how hypervisors operate and function.

It all seems closely related to virtualization which makes since,
considering xbox emulation would need to be secure, games need to be
separate, and x360 dash in background running all the while. these may
all be separate virtual machines which the vernal can switch control
between. this may also be an obstacle , even if we can cause media
player, xbox emu, or dash to crash, we may need to do considerable
work to escalate out of the virtual abstraction the kernel set that
environment up with.

the x360 emulation engine may need to do all x86 instruction
conversion, which probably isn't terribly hard considering it's raw
power, but may tend to be slightly dangerous and warrant levels of
abstraction from the x360's native workings.

also, there are open source projects to run powerpc code on x86,
and you can run apple osx and darwin in it on osx. this may also be
useful.

In regards to questions of whether x360 uses caching / page file [
on wiki ] . i believe this cannot be assumed since the core model
ships with out a hard disk. and the independent developers.doc also
instructs coders to make there projects fit entirely in the 512mb on
board ram, and assume no paging is available.

I have a friend with an x360 and hdd, and if i can find a machine
with sata and a bunch of free GB, i would love to try and dd an image
of off it. i am currently doing something similar to an oem
PlayStation 2 image, trying to read it sector by sector, so I'm
already geared in a meticulous mindset.

I look forward to working with you all and while i don't have
access to 360 or any sata hardware, I would still like to offer any
help i may find myself possessing. I also apologize for inconsistent
punctuation and such. it's tricky enough trying to keep these thoughts
coherent, so they may read slightly disjointed.

Also, I agree the mailing list should strip out html, and people
should adhere to the Usenet quoting etiquette. makes getting to the
content much easier.
