If you could access to a clean room and all the need be kit would it be possible to actually take apart the chips, see the physical chip layout under a microscope, then use that to get to work out how all the software works etc.

Personally I use gmane to keep track of mailing list history.
I've started on a trek to see if there are any other free managed
provider solutions out there that would be willing to take us under
their wing. (Thanks but no thanks to private sponsors currently) Most
other providers will offer us the flexibility that is really needed for a
project like free60. Yes, there are successful large high profile projects
that survive just fine on sf.net, but we're not them. The speed of
sf.net is just unacceptable, especially for a project that is acting
as the central repository of information on the 360. I'll be sure to fill
the list in when I've finished the research (i.e. couple days).

Partially offtopic, but I've found a way for hiding those signatures. It
seems that Sourceforge's Mailman version cannot handle multipart
messages properly (don't know if that's how it's called).
Whenever I send a message to this list signed with my PGP signature,
some clients (at least Mutt) drops the signature because it is appended
below the multipart; it's trailing garbage then.

Before we should talk about GUIs, we should get a running linux on it.

i found this link full of info on the hardware and security. It has ram
dumps and everything.
http://www.xboxhacker.net/forums/index.php?topic=57.0 it can also be
found here http://www.xboxhacker.net/ <-- they have lots of interesting
info on the 360. they also have an article on the front page about the
sha1 sums found in default.xex. This is a lot of information that I
think will help all of the smart free60 linux people.

Subject: [Free60-Devel] Google Group created
Hi everyone,
I just made a competing mailing list on Google Groups. It should be
faster and lack the hideous signatures.
I feel sort of bad for not improving the SNR on this list, but perhaps
this can improve productivity or at least give the project more exposure
by being listed on Google.
Oh, almost forgot the link
<http://groups.google.com/group/free60>
Have a nice day,
Dan
