List members who have an interest in cryptography (RSA, in particular) may find the following two papers interesting:

1. "On authenticated computing and RSA-based authentication"
http://portal.acm.org/citation.cfm?id=1102120.1102138

2. "Seifert's RSA fault attack: simplified analysis and generalizations"
http://www.ccsl.carleton.ca/~jamuir/papers/rsa-faults.pdf

The papers show that if an adversary can flip a few bits of an RSA modulus stored inside a computer, then there is a good chance that they can force the computer to accept a signature on an unauthorized message.

The Xbox is mentioned in both papers.
