I think you got it wrong a bit:

- The XBOX cpu has no direct access to the DVD-ROM media.. it requires
asking  the DVD-ROM Drive for any bit of information it wants..

- Asking this information is done using SATA....

- The DVD-ROM Drive has it's own firmware... and it's own cpu
- Theoretically, we could mimic every response the XBOX 360 Wants..

This will result in running backup games.

Then we could create Authenticated "Modified" DVD-R's Also...

That is... if some files, placed on a DVD-R Media are not Signed
themselves..

This could lead to an exploit eventually, if time passes by.

Well, they are assuming the false statement - that DVD-disk secure
check is done by the DVD drive. That is not true.

And the last but not least. NO, this will NOT help run linux on X360...
