After removing esd and recompiling, freeamp starts up happily, but
I can't add any songs to the playlist, nor can I play any songs.

If I specify a song fromt he command line:

[ben@sheeta:~]% freeamp 01-The_End_of_the_Millennium.mp3                10:55AM
Error: Could not open the specified file.
Error: Cannot initialize pmo: 12

Yuck!
