Using freeamp 2.1beta7 and alsa 0.5.9 and
./configure --prefix=/usr --enable-alsa
Does not generate the alsa.pmo file. alsa is detected by configure:
bma@kalgan [~/debian/packages/freeamp/freeamp-2.1]: grep asound config.cache
ac_cv_header_sys_asoundlib_h=${ac_cv_header_sys_asoundlib_h=yes}
ac_cv_lib_asound_main=${ac_cv_lib_asound_main=yes}
