Mmmmm....I may try that.  By the way..what version of egcs do you have?
I have g++ 2.91 (the RedHat 6.2 standard).

I have epkg working now, since the first victim was the musicbrainz library.
With that flexibility, I think I can experiment.

I found a reproducable segfault :)  So I am tracking it down.
