Can you still reproduce this on recent FreeBSD versions?

It's still the same. That box is now running
%uname -a
FreeBSD eco9 9.0-CURRENT-201012 FreeBSD 9.0-CURRENT-201012 #0: Sun Jul
17 13:57:27 BST 2011
root@eco9:/usr/src/sys/i386/compile/GENERIC_NOSBP_NODEBUG i386
I've just downloaded the RC1 i386 and amd64 CD's and they also both give
the same message.
Also someone just posted about another ASUS motherboard with the same
problem.

It's not a problem for me and the other poster said it's not a problem
for him but am happy to provide more info if required (but please cc me
as I'm not subscribed to bugs@)
