            Bug ID: 228406
Summary: ZFS - background deletion of files
           Product: Base System
           Version: 11.1-RELEASE
          Hardware: Any
                OS: Any
            Status: New
          Severity: Affects Many People
          Priority: ---
         Component: kern
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Hi,

when I delete large amount of data on ZFS, for example 5 GB (which is not that
large anyway) the rm(1) command does it 'instantly' and the disk start to work
like crazy, it lasts for several minutes and disk is very saturated with I/O
while this 'background' removal is in progress.

How one can limit or slow down or throttle that background files removal in
ZFS?

Is there some sysctl(8) for that?

Thanks in advance.
