The man page for avahi-daemon(8) DESCRIPTION secction makes reference to the
following pathname:
/usr/local/usr/local/etc/avahi/avahi-daemon.conf
That appears to be incorrect. The correct pathname is, I believe:
/usr/local/etc/avahi/avahi-daemon.conf
