Thanks. 

I ran the script for a few hours overnight after creating the zroot pool on a
small USB flash drive. I guess, not a suitable environment for the text. 

Side notes: 

* after Control-C it was necessary to force an export of the pool

* then, the OS seemed to stop working with two of three online 
  cache devices, worked around by restarting the OS. 

I'll update the OS then maybe retry the script.
