Bug ID: 288738
Summary: freebsd-update deletes certificates stored under
/etc/ssl/certs
Product: Base System
Version: 14.3-RELEASE
Hardware: Any
OS: Any
Status: New
Severity: Affects Some People
Priority: ---
Component: bin
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
I first encountered this on one server while upgrading host and jails from
14.2-RELEASE to 14.3-RELEASE, and now on several servers while updating to -p2:
freebsd-update deleted all my ssl certs and keys stored under folders such as
/etc/ssl/certs/<my-domain>/
The folders themselves are not deleted.
This happened using the -b option of freebsd-update to update jails.
On the FreeBSD forums, others reported the same problem. According to one
person, the problem is not even related to freebsd-update but occurs even when
updating from source: Post in thread 'Upgrade to 14.3 deleted certificates in
/etc/ssl/certs'
Maybe the problem sits in etcupdate?
