Pressing option '5' exactly 10 times does indeed set the console output to "Dual (Video primary)". However my system still does not boot. Since I have a laptop and the BIOS is configured to only use the laptop (internal) display on boot, only that receives a video signal. (I do have an external monitor, but that is connected via a USB-C dock with DP port).
