If you use FreeBSD in EC2 and you care about network performance, you have about 3 days to test the ENA (Amazon 2nd generation "enhanced networking") driver in 11.1-RC2 before it's too late to get bugs fixed. AMI numbers are in the announcement:
https://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-stable/2017-July/087369.html The ENA driver is enabled automatically in the instance types with that hardware (m4.16xlarge and F1, I3, P2, R4, X1 family instance types), so the only difference you should notice is that you get lower CPU usage, lower latency, and more throughput than the Xen netfront driver provided. -- Colin Percival Security Officer Emeritus, FreeBSD | The power to serve Founder, Tarsnap | www.tarsnap.com | Online backups for the truly paranoid _______________________________________________ [email protected] mailing list https://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-cloud To unsubscribe, send any mail to "[email protected]"
