I installed FreeBSD on dedicated servers using the Linux Rescue System. It's time-consuming, especially with a root-on-ZFS installation, and boot failures need to be checked in the Linux rescue system by mounting the ZFS dataset to view the logs.
I haven't installed FreeBSD 15 yet, but I might wait a while before I do. -- ~ devnull > On Friday, Dec 05, 2025 at 6:40 AM, Wolfram Schneider <[email protected] > (mailto:[email protected])> wrote: > On Thu, 4 Dec 2025 at 11:09, Claudiu Curcă <[email protected]> wrote: > > > > Hi Wolfram, thank you for this. > > > > One question, will this also be (or is it already) available for dedicated > > hosts? > > Unfortunately Hetzner no longer offers root servers with a FreeBSD > rescue system.
