> I was wondering why 4.0-Current still uses gcc 2.7.x instead of gcc 2.8.1,
Review the freebsd-current mail archives (http://www.freebsd.org/ -> support). Short answer -- it is being worked on. We don't jump into the newest fad technology. gcc281 and egcs needed to be proven to be stable and usable before we will move to it. Other Unixes have a tendency to jump to new technology before it is ready. -- -- David (obr...@nuxi.com -or- obr...@freebsd.org) To Unsubscribe: send mail to majord...@freebsd.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-current" in the body of the message
