Hello :-) When switching from Xorg (installed from package by portinstall) to console I got this bad behavior and constantly beeping speaker. On the console, when it switched, I got this message 3 times:
Failed to switch console (Invalid agrument) There are no more messages or debug information to better describe the problem sorry...
