to switch back to the internal speakers.

Thanks. So if you try this:
sysctl dev.hdaa.0.nid24_config="as=4 seq=15"
sysctl dev.hdaa.0.nid21_config="as=1 seq=15"
sysctl dev.hdaa.0.reconfig=1
That should make pcm0 and pcm1 "merge" into pcm0 and enable
auto-switching when plugging something
in the headphones jack.
If it works you might want to put the following two lines in
/boot/loader.conf
hint.hdaa.0.nid24.config="as=4 seq=15"
hint.hdaa.0.nid21.config="as=1 seq=15"
