This was correct. I saw the notes in the UPDATING file, which I usually
don't look at unless something fails :)

This is probably because 15-CURRENT uses WITHOUT_CLEAN by default, since
2025-08-19 at least. On 14.x, this is not the case. You might find that there
is less difference between the two, if you put WITHOUT_CLEAN in your src.conf.
