Hi,

In the context of running RSS kernel with bxe interface, would
one expect noticable performance improvement for that network interface?
The LAN speed is 1Gb.

The system hosts bhyve guests and runs -corrent nodebug.

I have noticed *bsd are less performant guests wrt network throughput.
It's like alpine > ubuntu > openbsd > freebsd > netbsd in terms of network throughput of the guests

The purpose of RSS is to spread the load of multiple flows on the same interface among multiple CPU cores. For 1Gb/s that's not needed on anything but the crappiest Atoms.

Are you using FreeBSD bhyve as your hypervisor and if so how does your network configuration look like? Does your NIC support SR-IOV? Do you need network isolation between your VMs?
