That's your problem.
You see that this has been fixed at least since a month:

ticso@cicely8> host is a nickname for 99.96-
ticso@cicely8> uname -v
FreeBSD 5.0-CURRENT #2: Fri Aug  3 15:05:53 CEST 2001     

ticso@cicely9> host is a nickname for 99.96-
