This seems to be because you have an old /usr/bin/cu with the schg set
on it, and rev.1.17 of the Makefile broke the unsetting of the schg
bit (${DESTDIR}/${BINDIR}/cu rarely exists, becuase BINDIR is used
before it is initialized).
